Jefferson's Temperature Records: Maximum and Minimum Temperatures

This visualization depicts the maximum and minimum high and low temperatures recorded in Thomas Jefferson’s weather observations. The top of the bar represents the maximum temperature, the black line indicates the minimum.

Data was pulled from every year where Jefferson kept consistent weather records for more than 7 months of the year. This chart does not represent all of Jefferson’s records.

Since Jefferson kept weather observations in multiple cities and locations over a great length of time, his weather observations do not represent the temperature of one fixed location. Hover over a bar to view location data for that month.
